Prof. Dr. P. Manokar is a graduate of Baroda Medical College where he got his MBBS and MD Stripes of his illustrious academic career. He did his DM Cardiology under the guidance of the legendary Padma Vibhushan B. K. Goyal at Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences in Mumbai. He quali­fied as the youngest cardiologist in the country and then moved to Chennai to Sri Ramachandra University. He got his Heart Failure Training at Ohio State University, Columbus-Ohio under Prof William Tober Abraham and also his honorary appointment as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Ohio State University. He became the youngest fellow of the prestigious American College of Cardiology and subsequently became a fellow of the Society of Coronary angiography and interventions, American Heart Association in the USA. He is also a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians at Glasgow and the European Society of Cardiology. He is also a fellow of the Asia Pacifi­c Society of Interventional Cardiology and the Cardiology Society of India. He is credited with being the Youngest to become a Professor of Cardiology in the Country and the second youngest in the world to achieve the rare distinction. He has spearheaded the AHS program in his institute and has been the examiner for DM, Ph D, MSc and BSc Programs across the country. He has been a multifaceted interventional cardiologist with special interest in Chronic Total Occlusions and structural interventions. He has done more than 4000 therapeutic procedures dealing with a neonate to a nonagenarian with equal ease. He has several chapters in various books to his credit. He is an avid researcher and has many publications resulting from his involvement in varied clinical studies. He has been a part of the organizing committee for about a dozen national level meetings.
